An Integrated approach to increase conception chances

Unable to conceive or having difficulty in getting pregnant or difficulty in making your wife pregnant is all known as being diagnosed with infertility. Infertility is very common issue in urban India as lifestyle plays a pivotal role in being infertile. Long working hours, stress relationships, ease to junk food, alcohol consumption, smoking too much, obesity etc all these lifestyle factors contributes highly to infertility.

Today in this blog, I will share few points on how to boost your fertility naturally or increase your chances of getting pregnant. However it is very important to keep things simple and not become obsessed.

1. Stress

First of all address stress from your life. Ask yourself questions like why you are stressed; What are the things making you stress? Etc as stress can affect your reproductive system badly and having problems conceiving can add to existing stress. In women stress can disrupt the ovulation cycle and in men, stress can lower sperm count and raise the number of abnormal sperm.

2. Physical routine

Never underestimate the benefits of being physically active or doing exercise. Without overdoing it, exercise not only increases fertility but it is also known to reduce dementia, osteoporosis, anxiety, depression and fatigue as well as improve cardiovascular health and quality of life; Yoga in particular is an excellent stress buster and also keeps you fit.

3. Well Balanced Diet

A balanced diet is essential for overall good pre-conceptual health. Eat foods that are high in folic acid, such as broccoli, spinach, kale etc. Take ample amount of Vitamin B12, which is found in beef, soya products and all bran cereal, nuts etc. Take sufficient fruits in your diet which is very beneficial in combating age-related fertility struggles.

4. Quit or lessen your smoking habit

Research has found that smoking not only reduced the possibility of getting pregnant it also reduces the chances of fertility
treatment working. Smoking also increases the risk of miscarriage in both naturally occurring pregnancies and those resulting from IVF.

5. Limit the intake of caffeine and alcohol

Excessive alcohol can affect hormone production in both males and females in men, alcohol excess can cause erectile problems and may have a negative effect on sperm production also high levels of caffeine consumption have been associated with decreased fertility. The recommended dosage is 150mg for pregnant ladies. Caffeine intake leads to narrowing of blood vessels restricting the blood flow to the baby and hence must be avoided during pregnancy.

6. Don’t forget to have sex

Last but not least the most important thing is do not forget to do romance. Be careful to not allow the stress of trying to conceive to reduce sexual esteem, satisfaction and frequency. Reproduction efficiency increases with frequency of intercourse but the optimal frequency is best defined by the couples own preference I suggest two to three times a week and to make a love across the week; do not restrict yourself to weekends. At the very least, aim to have sex during your most fertile time of the month - about five days before, and one day after ovulation. In a 28-day cycle, this happens between day 10 and 17.
