Problems getting pregnant second time?

Lot of couples plan their extended family when they plan their second baby. But problem occurs when they came to know that they are suffering from secondary infertility which means inability to get pregnant after the birth of your first biological child. This kind of state can be stressful and upsetting and also difficult to process, especially if the first pregnancy went well.

Now, let us consider few facts which lead you to secondary infertility:

1. Time and Gap between the ages:

We cannot say that somebody is suffering from secondary infertility for particular amount of time. But if a couple has been trying unsuccessfully for at least one year or so then I would strongly recommend that they should pay a visit to fertility expert who will be able to investigate their situation and help them get to the bottom of what might be wrong. Age also matters if you are seeking to get pregnant again with second baby after the certain age say above 35 or so then you might feel difficulty in doing that.

And please don’t ever think that you are alone in this battle there are many couples across the globe struggling with secondary infertility and this can be especially difficult when friends become pregnant with their second child.

2. Complications from the first birth which could lead to difficulties getting pregnant again:

There are ‘N’ number of factors to be considered when
trying to get pregnant again like:

A.)  Mostly women experience pain following a birth and may not feel comfortable with intercourse for some time. It’s very important for couple to feel comfortable before getting intimate again and ready to have another child as stress and pressure will have a negative effect on your body and in turn, decrease your chances of becoming pregnant again.

B.)  Your Retained placenta could also be another reason for complication in your second pregnancy. This is when some of the membrane or placenta remains inside the woman and can cause an infection within the uterus and womb. This in turn will block the fallopian tubes and therefore make it very difficult for the sperm to reach the egg.

C.)  Women lose eggs every month and if she leaves a significant gap between the first and second child, her ovarian reserve may decrease.

D.)  Your partner’s work life could also have an effect. Diet and exercise are very important when trying to conceive and sedentary jobs can lead to slower sperm motility. Adopting a healthy living regime as a couple will help you along the way to a successful conception.

If you face any of the above mentioned problems while seeking second time pregnancy then I would advise all the couples without delay please seek any good fertility expert. It will help you calm down and plan further.
